But how do they do it? Well, let me give you a couple of tips to get you started in the domain name business.
First of all, you need to know what constitutes a good domain name. A domain name that contains very popular keywords, such as getdvds.com or forexfinance.com or bestwebsitesdesigner.com per example, can be very interesting to many buyers. A short and catchy domain name will also do the trick. Think about Google.com or eBay.com; these names don’t really mean anything but they are short, catchy and easy to remember and these types of names are very popular amongst domain name buyers.
Another great way of making money selling domain names is buy reselling underrated domain names. Sometimes, buyers just don’t know the real value of their domain names or just don’t know how to attract enough buyers to get a good price for their domain names. Some people don’t bother developing their domains and sell them without as site attached to it; so if you have some basic web designing expertise, you can buy a domain name, create a simple but effective site around it and resell the domain along with the site for a profit.
But where can you find buyers for domain names? Well, there are plenty of sites dedicated to buying and selling domains such as afternic.com and sedo.com. These sites are crawling with thousands and thousands of interested buyers looking for a good domain name either for themselves or for resale. Another great place to sell your domain names are internet marketing forums. Sites like digitalpoint.com have sections dedicated to domain name sellers only. Make sure you check out your favorite internet marketing forums to see if they have domain selling sections.
But before you start looking for potential buyers for your domain names, make sure you have your domain name appraised. It’s very important to know how much your domain name is worth before putting it out on the marketplace. There are plenty of sites that offer this service for a small fee, such as swiftappraisal.com. They will evaluate your domain name on a variety of criteria and will give you an estimate of how much your domain name might pull in. Having your domain name appraised prevents you from selling your domain name too low and loosing hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.
While there is much more you’ll need to learn before becoming a seasoned domain name seller, these few facts should be enough to get you started. Make sure you visit a couple of discussion boards focused on domain name selling such as dnforum.com and namepros.com so you can learn from people who have been in this business for years. There are couple of ways on making money with domain. You can buy keyword enriched domain and sell them with higher price. You can buy domain in bulk or register as reseller you can sell it also for higher priced.
You can also use affiliate for domain comapnies
